Raipur, December 18
Giving fresh momentum to electronics and IT manufacturing in Chhattisgarh, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved the release of the first instalment of Rs. 22.50 crore for the proposed Common Facility Centre (CFC) project in Sector-22 of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The amount has been sanctioned under the Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) scheme, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s electronics ecosystem.
The project will be implemented by the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaaran (NRANVP). The responsibility of evaluation and monitoring has been entrusted to the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), which recommended the release of this first instalment after due assessment.
This approval is expected to play a crucial role in developing Nava Raipur as an electronics manufacturing and IT hardware hub. Through the Common Facility Centre, industries will gain access to shared infrastructure, advanced technical facilities, and services related to testing, innovation and product development. These facilities are aimed at creating a “conducive and competitive environment” for investment, while also generating new employment opportunities for local youth.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described the Centre’s decision as a milestone in the direction of industrial growth and technological self-reliance in Chhattisgarh. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state is moving swiftly to realise the vision of “Make in India” and “Digital India”. Developing Nava Raipur as a modern industrial and technology-driven city remains a key priority of the state government.
Expressing confidence in the project, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the Common Facility Centre being established under the EMC 2.0 scheme will not only strengthen investor trust but also provide a strong foundation for the goals of “Viksit Chhattisgarh” and “Viksit Bharat @2047”. He conveyed his gratitude to the Central Government and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for their continued support.
