Quick Payments, No Hassle: Farmers Happy with Smooth Procurement Process
Raipur, November 25
Paddy procurement in the state has picked up pace, with farmers receiving timely payments after selling their produce. The online token system and digital verification have made the process smoother at procurement centers, and farmers say the experience this year has been far more convenient.
At the Sendri procurement center in Takhatpur block of Bilaspur district, farmer Dhaniram Dewangan of Amtara village received Rs 1.91 lakh in his account soon after selling his paddy. He said he faced no difficulty at any stage, from generating the token to receiving the payment. Thanking Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for the swift system, he said the government’s farmer friendly measures were strengthening farmers, giving them the required support.
*Money transferred within five days*
Dewangan shared that he cultivates six acres and sold 140 quintals of paddy this year. The entire procurement process was completed without any trouble. He added that the payment was transferred to his account within five days of the sale.
He said that several schemes launched for farmers have proved beneficial and have made agriculture more viable. He also receives support under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, which he described as a major help for small farmers. He added that many routine expenses of farming are covered through this assistance.
