Raipur, November 27

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who complete the distribution, collection and digitisation of enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of electoral rolls by November 28, 2025 will be rewarded by the Chhattisgarh government. This is in line with the directions of the Election Commission of India. The revision is being carried out across the state with January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.

Officials from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office said the move is aimed at recognising the critical role played by BLOs in maintaining accurate electoral rolls. Those who deliver outstanding and timely performance will receive a certificate of appreciation along with a cash incentive.

As per norms set by the Election Commission of India, in each Assembly constituency where any polling part has 800 or more registered voters, the top three BLOs who achieve 100 per cent completion of form distribution, collection and digitisation by the deadline will be selected for the award.

In all, 270 BLOs, three from each of the state’s 90 constituencies, will be honoured at district-level functions on January 25, 2026, on the occasion of National Voters’ Day. Each selected BLO will receive a certificate and an incentive of Rs 5,000.

The process of selection and recommendation will be carried out by the respective Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of each Assembly constituency. Only BLOs recommended by the EROs will be considered eligible.

Chief Electoral Officer Shri Yashwant Kumar has directed all Collectors and District Election Officers to ensure timely identification and selection of eligible BLOs and to complete all arrangements for the award ceremony well in advance to avoid any delays.
