Raipur, November 21
Paddy procurement at the MSP in Chhattisgarh continues to gain strong momentum. On the sixth day of procurement, November 20, a total of 9,00,615 quintals of paddy was procured from farmers at the support price. Between November 15 and 20, the state has procured 23,66,958 quintals of paddy under the MSP system.
As per the directions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, payment of the support price to farmers has begun simultaneously with the procurement process. MARKFED has released Rs. 214.18 crore to Apex Bank for this purpose. It is worth mentioning that the Chhattisgarh Government has already provided MARKFED with a bank guarantee of Rs. 26,200 crore to ensure timely payment for paddy procured from farmers. Officers have been deployed at all procurement centres for supervision, and senior state-level and district-level officials are conducting regular visits to review the arrangements.
Strict monitoring is being enforced to ensure that “no irregularities” occur in paddy procurement. Officers have been posted at checkpoints to prevent the entry of paddy from outside the state, and surprise inspections are being conducted at various locations. Farmers have stated that the online system introduced by the state government through the “Token Tunhar App” has significantly simplified the process of obtaining tokens and selling their paddy without difficulty. It is noteworthy that for the Kharif Marketing Season 2025–26, a total of 26.50 lakh farmers have registered to sell paddy at the support price. The registered cultivation area stands at 29.27 lakh hectares.
