Film ‘Balidani Raja Guru Balakdas’ is a Unique Tale of Courage and Valor: CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited the cinema hall at Ambuja Mall in the capital city, Raipur, today to watch the Chhattisgarhi film “Balidani Raja Guru Balakdas.”
On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Cabinet Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MLA Shri Domanlal Korchewada, MLA Shri Rohit Sahu, spiritual leader Guru Baldas Saheb, along with several public representatives and distinguished members of the Satnami community were present.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that “Balidani Raja Guru Balakdas” is a unique saga of courage and valor. Guru Balakdas not only fought against the atrocities and starvation inflicted upon farmers by the British and the Pindaris, but also worked towards uniting the community. He played a significant role in raising awareness about education, promoting social harmony, opposing the oppressive policies of the British, and participating in the freedom struggle.
The Chief Minister announced that the film “Balidani Raja Guru Balakdas” will be made tax-free in Chhattisgarh so that more and more viewers can watch this inspirational story and connect with their history and heritage.
He further said that Chhattisgarh has always been the land of brave martyrs and saintly figures. It is essential for us to learn about and understand the history of our great freedom fighters. He added that the film beautifully portrays Chhattisgarh’s contribution to the freedom struggle, its rich culture, social harmony, resistance against British rule, and the simplicity of life.
Appreciating the talents of Chhattisgarhi cinema, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the artists, directors, and the entire unit are working with dedication and passion. This is why Chhattisgarhi cinema is now touching the hearts of audiences. He also mentioned that the proposed Film City by the state government will provide better infrastructure, greater opportunities, and a national platform for Chhattisgarhi cinema. This will encourage local talent and further strengthen the state’s cultural identity.
