“Mahatari Sadans Will Be the Foundation of Chhattisgarh’s Progress” – CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the state-level inauguration ceremony of Mahatari Sadans held at village Kareli Badi in Kurud Assembly Constituency, Dhamtari district. From the stage in Kareli Badi, the CM virtually inaugurated 51 newly constructed Mahatari Sadans across various districts of the state by pressing a remote button. He also launched the “Gramin Sampada App” and a citizen information portal based on MGNREGA data. Additionally, he released two publications: “Lakhpati Didi / Mahatari Sadan” and “Maa Abhiyan”.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai held a virtual interaction with women’s groups from various districts – Jashpur (Rengale), Bemetara (Linjhewara), Mungeli (Navagaon), and Durg (Nagpura) – and conveyed his greetings for both the inauguration of Mahatari Sadans and the Navratri festival. He stated that the state government, during its short 19-month tenure, is working relentlessly to fulfill Modi’s Guarantee. Empowering women is the topmost priority of the government, he emphasized. Now, women in self-help groups will be able to engage in tailoring, embroidery, vegetable cultivation, and self-employment training at Mahatari Sadans.
The Chief Minister also highlighted several ambitious state-run schemes such as the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana, and Mahatari Vandan Yojana. Speaking on the new industrial policy, he emphasized the vast opportunities it offers for youth self-employment. He reiterated the state’s commitment, in line with Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah’s vision, to make Chhattisgarh free of Naxalism by March 2026.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, while congratulating the state on the inauguration of Mahatari Sadans, said the government is continuously working to make women self-reliant. He mentioned that under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, women are gaining financial strength and that services like fund withdrawals and others have become easily accessible in villages through Atal Digital Service Centers. The program was also addressed by District Minister in-charge Shri Tankram Verma and MP Smt. Rupkumari Chaudhary. Local MLA Shri Ajay Chandrakar warmly welcomed the CM and discussed ongoing development projects in the region.
Chief Minister Sai announced development projects worth over ₹83 crore for Dhamtari district. He declared the establishment of a college in Kareli Badi, and approved a new ITI in G. Jamgaon (Kurud). He also announced the merging of Kareli Badi and Khatti villages to form a new Nagar Panchayat, and the upgrading of Kurud Nagar Panchayat to a Municipal Council.

Expansion of urban drinking water supply projects in Nagar Panchayats Kurud and Bhakhara at a cost of ₹30 crore
Approval of ₹45 crore for construction of an anicut between Bhendri and Baronda
Allocation of ₹2 crore for various development works in Kurud Nagar Panchayat
₹1.5 crore for Bhakhara Nagar Panchayat
₹5 crore for Khatti Anicut repair
Deputy CM Vijay Sharma also announced the construction of a “Gaurav Path” in Bhendri.
The event saw virtual participation from other dignitaries including Deputy CM Arun Sao from Mungeli, MPs, MLAs, and local public representatives from various districts. Around 2 lakh women from across the state joined virtually. Earlier, CM Sai visited stalls and exhibitions set up by different departments showcasing development works. He also distributed materials and cheques to beneficiaries.
The event began with a detailed presentation on Mahatari Sadans by Principal Secretary Smt. Niharika Barik Singh. A large number of dignitaries and local citizens were present at the venue.
