Special Initiative by Cooperative Bank in Flood-Affected Mandar

Raipur, 05 September

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, during his recent aerial and ground inspections of flood-affected districts in the Bastar division, reviewed the relief and rehabilitation work being carried out by the administration. He directed officials to provide sensitive and prompt assistance to all flood-affected families at every level.

In compliance with the Chief Minister’s instructions, significant relief has reached the villagers of Mandar, one of the villages severely affected by heavy rains.
Collector of Bastar and Authorized Officer of the District Cooperative Central Bank, Jagdalpur, Shri Haris S.K., along with Lohandiguda branch and Aadim Jaati Seva Sahakari Samiti, Alnar, assisted the flood victims in recovering their essential documents and accessing their funds.

Significant Aid for Flood Victims

Due to the floods, many households in Mandar village lost their belongings, including important documents such as Aadhaar cards, Ayushman cards, ration cards, and bank passbooks.
Without these, villagers were unable to access government welfare schemes and banking services, causing major distress.

Passbook Distribution and Payments via Micro-ATM

Recognizing the severity of the issue, the District Cooperative Central Bank, Lohandiguda, under the guidance of the Collector and Authorized Bank Officer, organized the distribution of new bank passbooks directly in the village.
Additionally, the Aadim Jaati Seva Sahakari Samiti, Alnar, arranged a micro-ATM machine in the area. Using this facility, farmers who possessed ATM cards could withdraw cash as per their needs instantly.

Relief for Farmers to Resume Cultivation

This initiative especially benefited farming families, who were in urgent need of funds to resume agricultural activities.
With the new passbooks in hand, they can now easily withdraw money from their accounts, enabling them to restart sowing and farming operations.

In this time of crisis, the efforts by the bank and cooperative society have served as a lifeline for the villagers, helping them begin the journey to restore normalcy in their lives.
