Raipur NIT-FIE to Receive National Incubator Award

The NIT Raipur Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FIE) will be honored with the National Incubator Award at the 4th India Entrepreneurship Summit. The event will take place on 13 September at the NDMC Convention Centre, Sansad Marg, New Delhi.
The award recognizes NIT Raipur-FIE’s outstanding contribution to India’s startup ecosystem, especially for providing guidance and strong technical support to more than 35 new startups in the state.

The India Entrepreneurship Summit is organized by the Entrepreneurs Association of India (EAI) and Enterprising Zone (EZ) — a government-funded and internationally recognized incubation center.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, congratulating the institute on this achievement, said that startups in Chhattisgarh are being actively promoted, and this award will further encourage the state’s rapidly evolving industrial environment.
He added that receiving this prestigious National Incubator Award is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh, and the technology-driven activities of NIT Raipur-FIE to nurture startups and foster entrepreneurship will play a significant role in the state’s economic development, helping establish Chhattisgarh as a hub of innovation.

The Chief Minister also expressed hope that the institute will continue to empower the youth, promote self-reliance, and advance technological progress, while congratulating the entire team.

Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director of NIT Raipur, stated that the National Incubator Award is a testament to the institute’s commitment to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. He mentioned that FIE is actively building a strong ecosystem that supports tech startups and helps them grow into successful ventures. This recognition, he said, will inspire further support for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

It’s worth noting that NIT Raipur-FIE was established in March 2021 as a non-profit organization. It serves as NIT Raipur’s Technology Business Incubator under the NIDHI (National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations) program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
So far, the institute has supported over 35 startups in Chhattisgarh. These include ventures in governance, medical device manufacturing, and others working in analytics, deep-tech, clean tech, and ICT (Information & Communication Technology).

The NIT Raipur-FIE is led by Director Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao and Career Development Center Head Dr. Sameer Bajpai.
