Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Resonates with Devotion as Folk Singer Maithili Thakur Enchants with Soulful Bhajans

The Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha premises turned spiritually charged and Rammaya (imbued with the spirit of Lord Ram) today, as renowned folk singer Ms. Maithili Thakur mesmerised the audience with her melodious bhajans.
As part of the Cultural Evening organized under the Excellence Felicitation Ceremony, held on the occasion of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly’s Silver Jubilee Year 2025, Ms. Thakur presented a soulful line-up of devotional songs dedicated to Lord Shri Ram. One after the other, she captivated the audience with powerful renditions that struck an emotional chord.
During her performance, Ms. Thakur rendered bhajans like “Shri Ram ko dekhkar Jagat Janani Nandani…”, “Mere jhopdi ke bhaag khul jaayenge…”, and “Mere Ram ki kripa se sab kaam ho raha hai…”, all in her signature sweet and melodious voice. Her devotional singing left the audience deeply moved and immersed in bhakti (devotional fervour).
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai honoured Ms. Maithili Thakur on stage with a traditional shawl, coconut, and a memento as a mark of appreciation for her soulful performance.
On this occasion, Governor Shri Ramesh Deka, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant, along with several Members of Parliament and MLAs, graced the event with their presence and experienced the spiritual and cultural splendour of the evening.
