Planned Development of Nava Raipur Will Be Aligned with Future Needs: CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai held a review meeting of the Housing and Environment Department at the Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur. During the meeting, he reviewed the works being carried out under the Nava Raipur Development Authority and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Present in the meeting were Finance and Housing-Environment Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Housing and Environment Shri Ankit Anand, NRDA CEO Shri Chandan Kumar, Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Shri Avnish Sharan, CEO of Raipur Development Authority Shri Akash Chikara, along with other senior officials.

The Chief Minister stated that the well-organized development of Nava Raipur is a top priority of the government. Development in Nava Raipur will be carried out in a planned manner, keeping in mind future needs. He said Nava Raipur is one of the most modern and beautiful capital cities in the country. Premier educational institutions like IIM, IIIT, and National Law University have already been established here. As habitation in Nava Raipur increases in the future, it is necessary to expand civic amenities accordingly.

The Chief Minister discussed expanding rail connectivity in the Nava Raipur region and instructed officials to take appropriate steps. He expressed interest in connecting the upcoming Parmalaksa-Kharasiya New Railway Line, being constructed by the Government of India through Balodabazar district, to Nava Raipur. This would improve rail facilities and benefit the general public.

Under the Bharatmala project, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for establishing a logistics hub in Nava Raipur (Atal Nagar) to support trade and export-import through the expressway linking Visakhapatnam. Officials informed that approximately 95% of the expressway passing through Chhattisgarh is complete. Once finished, the distance between Raipur and Visakhapatnam will be reduced by 100 km.

The Chief Minister noted that the state’s new industrial policy is attracting a large number of investors, which will generate employment for the youth. He also reviewed the oxygen zone project in Nava Raipur, where trees like peepal, banyan, karanj, neem, ashok, amaltas, and gulmohar are being planted and monitored for growth.

Officials briefed that there are plans to develop a Commission Bidding Complex for various state commissions, boards, and corporations in Nava Raipur. Additionally, proposals are in place to build a working women’s hostel, a 100-bed hospital, and to establish another new police station in the region.

The Chief Minister emphasized the optimal utilization of land plots allocated for constructing new buildings in Nava Raipur.
