Aadhaar Card Enrollment for Newborns in Government Health Institutions

Raipur, April 10

Under the Birth-Linked Aadhaar Registration Scheme launched by the Government of India, the initiative to link every citizen with an Aadhaar ID is being further strengthened by enabling Aadhaar enrollment for newborns in government health institutions.

This move will empower citizens to access government schemes directly and transparently. The Aadhaar card will play a crucial role in ensuring access to essential services like healthcare, education, and financial support.

As part of the scheme, operators posted at health institutions are required to complete training and pass the LMS (Learning Management System) and NSEIT (National Skill and Employment Index Test). So far, operators from six health institutions have successfully met these standards. Health Secretary Shri Amit Kataria handed over tablets and fingerprint scanners to the successful operators.

Each institution has been equipped with a CELC (Child Enrolment Light Client) kit, which includes an Android tablet and a fingerprint device, to streamline and expedite the Aadhaar registration process for newborns. The progress of this scheme is being regularly reviewed by Commissioner and Director of Health Services, Ms. Priyanka Shukla. Data collected from the institutions is being coordinated with UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).

This scheme will soon be implemented across all government health institutions in every district of the state.
