State-Level Mahila Madai Receives Enthusiastic Public Response

Raipur, March 6

The Mahila Madai, organized at Science College Ground in Raipur under the theme “Empowered Women, Prosperous Women,” is receiving an excellent response from the public. The fair, which started on March 4, features 87 stalls set up by women’s self-help groups (SHGs) from all 33 districts of the state.

Some of the key attractions at the fair include:

Ektal Bell Metal from Raigarh,
Jaggery products from Surajpur,
Bell Metal crafts from Bastar,
Kosa silk & handloom sarees from Janjgir-Champa and Sakti,
Para Art from Gariaband,
Handmade baskets and Mahua-based products from Jashpur,
Cosmetic textiles from Bilaspur,
Aromatic rice varieties from Balrampur and Surajpur.
These stalls, particularly those selling traditional and handmade products, have drawn large crowds, especially women shoppers.

Over ₹50,000 Worth of Products Sold So Far
The nodal officer for the Women’s Fair reported that over ₹50,000 worth of products have already been sold, with expectations of higher sales as the fair continues until March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.

The 87 stalls at the fair are open for visitors daily from 12 PM to 10 PM.

Exciting Attractions at the Fair
A selfie zone has been set up as a major attraction for visitors.
A children’s play zone with swings and toys has also been arranged to keep young visitors entertained.

The fair also includes cultural evenings, giving Chhattisgarhi folk artists an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Support for Women Entrepreneurs
Alongside Women & Child Development Department’s SHGs, the fair provides free stalls to SHGs from NRLM, Forest Department, and Panchayat Department for selling and displaying their products.

Additionally, to empower local women entrepreneurs, registered women entrepreneurs, producers, and startups have been provided stalls to showcase and sell their products.
