Women’s Madai Inaugurated in Capital Raipur Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade Inspects Stalls

Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade today inaugurated the state-level Women’s Madai at the Science College ground in Raipur. This Madai is being organized on the theme of ‘Empowered Women, Prosperous Women’. This Madai will continue till March 8. In this Madai, materials produced by women’s self-help groups from all over the state are being exhibited and sold.

The Women and Child Development Minister inspected the stalls set up by women’s groups for sales-cum-exhibition at the Women’s Madai. The women of the women’s self-help group were excited to have Minister Smt. Rajwade among them. Smt. Rajwade did a lot of shopping at the various stalls set up here and tasted and appreciated the Ragi, Sattu, and Bajra laddus. On this occasion, Minister Smt. Rajwade honored Padmashri Jageshwar Yadav.

MLA Shri Sunil Soni, Member State Women’s Commission Smt. Laxmi Verma, Ms. Shalini Rajput Shahid, Secretary Smt. Sammi Abidi, Director Shri Janmejay Mahobe, and departmental officers and employees were present on this occasion.
The 87 stalls set up for sales-cum-exhibition at the Women’s Madai can be viewed from 12 noon to 10 pm. A selfie zone has been created in the Madai which is the center of attraction. Along with this, a play zone has also been created for children, in which attractive swings and toys have been arranged for the entertainment of children.

The stalls of Nava Bihan, Mahtari Vandan Sakhi Center, Women Helpline, Disha Darshan, Kanya Vivah, Sponsorship, Faster Care, Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, Child Helpline, Child Marriage, Adoption, and Ideal Anganwadi Center remained the center of attraction among the people at the Women’s Madai. A cultural evening was also organized in this Madai fair in which Ms. Garima Diwakar of the Chhattisgarh folk art stage gave a captivating performance.

Free stalls are being provided for the sale and display of materials produced by women’s self-help groups of other departments like NRLM, Forest Department, Panchayat Department, etc. along with the groups of Women and Child Development Department in the Madai fair. In addition, stalls have also been provided to registered women entrepreneurs, producers, and start-ups with the aim of providing opportunities to local women entrepreneurs and women to move forward.
