State Government Committed to Jail Reforms and the Spiritual & Moral Upliftment of Prisoners – CM Sai

In a unique initiative by the Chhattisgarh government, prisoners across the state’s jails were given the opportunity to bathe with Ganga Jal as a step toward mental peace and spiritual purification.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his wishes for the blessings of Mother Ganga to be upon everyone. He stated that this initiative would offer inmates a chance for self-reflection and mental peace, guiding them toward positive transformation. The state government remains committed not only to jail reforms but also to the spiritual and moral upliftment of prisoners, and similar efforts will continue in the future.
A Major Step Towards Spiritual Awareness and Social Inclusion
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that culture and values are integral to every individual’s life, including prisoners. Since the Maha Kumbh is being held after 144 years, the state government ensured that no section of society, including prisoners, is deprived of its spiritual benefits.
The special event was conducted across 5 central jails, 20 district jails, and 8 sub-jails, where inmates participated in Ganga Jal bathing and collective prayers, allowing them to experience spiritual and mental purification.
Excitement Among Prisoners, Enthusiastic Participation in Collective Prayers
During the event, Ganga Jal was supplied to prisons, and arrangements were made for bathing and collective prayers. Jail authorities reported overwhelming enthusiasm among inmates, who actively participated and described it as a deeply positive experience. Many prisoners shared that the event gave them a sense of self-purification and mental peace.
