Glorious Saga of Martyr Veer Narayan Singh, Will Always Be Immortal: CM Sai

On the Martyrdom Day of Chhattisgarh’s first freedom fighter Martyr Veer Narayan Singh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid his respects at Jaystambh Chowk in the state capital Raipur. The Chief Minister offered floral tribute to Veer Narayan Singh.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Minister for Tribal Development Shri Ramvichar Netam, Minister for Forests Shri Kedar Kashyap, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, and several public representatives were present on the occasion.

Remembering the contributions of Martyr Veer Narayan Singh to his motherland, Chief Minister Sai said that the tribal leader, who laid down his life for independence, was a true son of Chhattisgarh. Though he hailed from a Zamindar family in Sonakhan, he fought for the rights of tribals, farmers, and the poor. During the severe famine of 1856, he saved the poor from hunger by distributing grains from the granaries. During the First War of Indian Independence in 1857, he instilled a sense of patriotism among the people of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the struggle, dedication, and sacrifice of Martyr Veer Narayan Singh for his motherland will always be remembered. His legacy as the protector of the poor and farmers will remain immortal.
