A delegation of Sarpanches from Jashpur district, who are on a four-day study tour, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday at the meeting hall of his office located in the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha. Chief Minister Shri Sai warmly interacted with the Sarpanches and enquired about the situation in their respective areas and the development works being carried out.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Sarpanches play an extremely important role in rural development. Recalling the beginning of his political journey, he said that he himself had started public service as a Panch. After serving as a Panch, he became a Sarpanch and later got the opportunity to serve the people as an MLA and a Member of Parliament. He said that if a Sarpanch has dedication and determination for the development of his village and Panchayat, he can bring about significant positive change in his area. He added that a major responsibility of infrastructure development and implementation of welfare schemes at the Panchayat level rests on the shoulders of Sarpanches.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that government schemes are giving new momentum to rural development and increasing employment opportunities. He urged Sarpanches to ensure effective implementation of these schemes, stay in regular contact with ministers and officials regarding local issues, and use the study tour to learn from development works in other areas and apply them in their villages.<\/p>\n
Notably, a group of 35 Sarpanches from Jashpur district, who are on a four-day study tour, had arrived at the Assembly on Tuesday to witness the proceedings of the Vidhan Sabha. During the tour, the delegation will also observe development works carried out in Gram Panchayat Patora in Durg district and Gram Panchayat Sankara in Dhamtari district.<\/p>\n
