Chhattisgarh has set a new benchmark in rural housing by completing over six lakh houses in the financial year 2025-26, the highest in the country. The achievement reflects a focused push on delivery, with coordinated schemes ensuring that eligible families across the state receive housing support within a defined timeline.<\/p>\n
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, the progress has been driven by the coordinated implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana\u2013Gramin, PM JANMAN Yojana and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. This alignment of schemes has helped speed up execution and extend coverage.<\/p>\n
To achieve the goal of “housing for all”, 18 lakh houses were approved in the first cabinet decision of the present government. All eligible beneficiaries identified in the survey list have now been covered, ensuring that no deserving family is left out.<\/p>\n
During the current financial year, 5.87 lakh houses were completed under PMAY-G, around 13,000 under the PM JANMAN Yojana, and over 10,000 under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Together, these efforts have taken the total tally beyond six lakh houses.<\/p>\n
This is the highest number of houses completed in a single financial year in the state since the launch of the scheme in 2016, reflecting steady monitoring and time-bound implementation.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the achievement marks a major milestone and reflects the state government\u2019s commitment to ensuring that no eligible family is deprived of housing. He said the core objective of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is to meet this basic need. A permanent house, he noted, is not just a structure of walls and a roof, but the foundation of security, stability and a dignified life for a family.<\/p>\n
He said the state government is implementing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi\u2019s vision of “housing for all” with full commitment on the ground. Effective coordination of schemes and close monitoring at every level have helped speed up construction while maintaining quality standards across the state.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister added that special attention is being given to transparency, quality and eligibility in the implementation of housing schemes so that the benefits reach the right beneficiaries. He said the government is continuously working to ensure that no eligible family is left out while also supporting livelihoods through the housing programme.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the housing schemes has also supported the rural economy. Under the \u2018Dealer Didi\u2019 model, more than 9,000 women from self-help groups supplied construction materials and became \u2018Lakhpati Didi\u2019, gaining financial stability. Many other self-help group members have also benefited through livelihood opportunities.<\/p>\n
More than 6,000 masons have been trained across the state, including over 1,200 women masons known as \u2018Rani Mistri\u2019. Surrendered Naxalites have also been linked to this initiative and provided with work opportunities.<\/p>\n
To ensure transparency and accountability, a toll-free number 18002331290 has been set up. In the past 10 months, more than 1,500 complaints and suggestions have been received and resolved. \u2018Awas Diwas\u2019 is observed on the 7th of every month in all gram panchayats to address issues at the local level. A QR code-based system at the panchayat level has also made information easily accessible.<\/p>\n
