Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the City Gas Infrastructure Project at a private hotel in the State capital, Raipur, marking a significant stride in Chhattisgarh\u2019s journey towards clean energy. On the occasion, he flagged off CNG-enabled vehicles and interacted with Smt. Poonam Chaube, the first pipeline gas consumer of Raipur Municipal Corporation, to understand her experience of using piped natural gas for domestic purposes.<\/p>\n
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh is celebrating the Silver Jubilee year of its formation, having completed 25 years of statehood. Over these years, the State has carved out multiple dimensions of development, and the City Gas Infrastructure Project, he said, is a new milestone in this progressive journey. \u201cThis initiative is not merely the introduction of a new facility; it represents the State\u2019s firm commitment to clean energy, environmental conservation and the creation of modern infrastructure,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Shri Sai informed that, on the lines of metropolitan cities, Domestic Piped Natural Gas (DPNG) will now be supplied to households and commercial establishments through pipelines. This will relieve domestic consumers from the inconvenience of cylinder refilling while enhancing safety standards. He noted that affordable and accessible energy will also provide fresh impetus to the industrial sector and strengthen investment prospects in the State.<\/p>\n
Congratulating the HCG Group, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the company would soon establish a comprehensive network of CNG stations across Raipur, Balodabazar and Gariaband districts. He underlined that increased use of CNG in vehicles would significantly reduce pollution and offer financial relief to citizens by lowering fuel expenses.<\/p>\n
Referring to the recently presented State Budget, Shri Sai stated that substantial provisions have been made for infrastructure development. The Government\u2019s objective, he said, is to ensure that world-class facilities are made available from urban centres to rural areas, enabling citizens to experience amenities comparable to those of metro cities. Emphasising the need for balanced growth, he affirmed that development and environmental protection must progress together, with green energy accorded priority. He appealed to the people of the State to adopt clean fuels and actively participate in building a green, developed and self-reliant Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n
It is noteworthy that the City Gas Infrastructure Project has been launched in Raipur, Balodabazar and Gariaband districts. Under the project, PNG will be supplied through pipelines for domestic and commercial use, while CNG will be made available for vehicles.<\/p>\n
