Chhattisgarh Government has taken firm steps to ensure transparency and accountability in the Public Distribution System (PDS). Under the current system, foodgrains are being distributed to ration cardholders through e-POS machines using Aadhaar-based authentication. Beneficiaries receive their entitled rations only after biometric verification, ensuring that supplies reach genuine and eligible recipients. Ensuring transparency and accountability in food distribution remains a top priority of the State Government.<\/p>\n
To strengthen monitoring, the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection has constituted inspection teams to conduct regular checks of fair price shops across the district. During these inspections, special attention was paid to distribution processes, record maintenance, and Aadhaar authentication compliance.<\/p>\n
During the course of inspection, irregularities were detected at certain fair price shops. Taking these violations seriously, the authorities initiated strict action against the concerned shop operators in accordance with prescribed control provisions. The government has made it clear that negligence or malpractice in the public distribution system will not be tolerated under any circumstances.<\/p>\n
The District Food Controller, Raipur, has cancelled the operations of Fair Price Shop ID No. 441001314 \u2014 _Maa Bhagwati Khadya Suraksha Poshan Evam Upbhokta Sahkari Samiti,_ Byron Bazar \u2014 and Fair Price Shop ID No. 441001256 \u2014 _Shri Jai Sheetla Kali Khadya Suraksha Poshan Evam Upbhokta Sahkari Samiti,_ Badaipara. Both have been attached to other fair price shops for further operations.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Fair Price Shop ID No. 441001148 \u2014 _Doodhadhari Mahila Prathmik Sahkari Upbhokta Bhandar,_ Mahamaya Mandir Ward No. 62 \u2014 has been penalized with a fine of \u20b97,000 after irregularities were established, and a strict warning has been issued.<\/p>\n
Food Secretary Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale stated that any irregularity in foodgrain distribution under the Public Distribution System would invite strict action as per the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2016.
