Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the Mahalakshmi Devi Puja organised by villagers in Salkhand under Basna tehsil of Mahasamund district on November 26. On the occasion, the Chief Minister prayed to Maa Lakshmi for the prosperity, well-being and good health of the people of Chhattisgarh.
\nHe interacted warmly with villagers and took note of their issues and local development needs. <\/p>\n
During the event, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a Mahtari Sadan in Salkhand village. He also instructed the Water Resources Department to collect necessary data and prepare a proposal for an anicut at the site.<\/p>\n
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that taking part in the worship of Maa Mahalakshmi on the auspicious occasion of the Aghan month filled him with deep joy and a sense of blessing. He added that the devotion and traditions preserved for decades by the villagers of Basna and Salkhand stand as a \u201cproud reflection of Chhattisgarh\u2019s cultural heritage\u201d. The month of Aghan is considered sacred in the region, symbolising \u201charvest, wealth and prosperity\u201d. It is during this time that new crops flourish in the fields and families welcome abundance into their homes. Maa Mahalakshmi grants not only wealth but also peace, health and goodwill. He prayed for happiness, prosperity, good health, a safe environment and a bright future for every citizen of the state. He reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to the \u201cholistic development of villages, the poor, farmers, women and youth\u201d. He praised the 25-year-old tradition of Salkhand as a symbol of faith as well as community unity and awareness. The fair, organised alongside the puja, has now become an important platform to promote rural culture, customs, and traditional heritage.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Constitution Day, the Chief Minister emphasised the dignity of the Constitution, democratic values and the importance of public participation in nation-building. He said the Constitution reminds citizens of their rights as well as duties and serves as the guiding document that takes India forward as a \u201cstrong, united and progressive nation\u201d. He paid tribute to the historic contribution of members of the Chhattisgarh State Formation Committee and noted that their foresight laid the foundation of today\u2019s developing and confident Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is moving rapidly towards the goal of \u201cViksit Bharat\u201d. He stated that significant progress has been achieved in infrastructure, education, health, women\u2019s empowerment and housing. The approval of 18 lakh houses for Chhattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana marks a significant milestone in this national commitment. He added that nearly 70 lakh women are receiving benefits under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, an initiative that strengthens \u201cwomen\u2019s dignity and economic empowerment\u201d. He called upon citizens to move forward with a spirit of commitment to the Constitution, harmony, equality and national development, expressing confidence that with the combined efforts of the Centre and the State, Chhattisgarh will play a leading role in building a developed India.<\/p>\n
CM’s wife, Smt Kaushalya Sai, Raipur North MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Basna MLA Shri Sampat Agrawal, State Women Commission member Smt.
