Organized by the district administration from November 6 to 9, the four-day festival is offering visitors from across the country a vivid experience of Jashpur\u2019s lush valleys, traditional arts, and warm hospitality.<\/p>\n
In the village of Kere, eight homestays have been set up for tourists, complete with all necessary amenities. This initiative has not only given rural tourism a new direction but also provided local families with an opportunity for economic empowerment.<\/p>\n
Guests at these homestays are living not as outsiders but as members of local households, immersing themselves in the rhythms of Jashpur\u2019s daily life, cuisine, and customs. Tourists shared that \u201cstaying in homestays is far better than in hotels \u2014 the simplicity, warmth, and home-cooked food here are heartwarming.\u201d<\/p>\n
The homestay model offers a direct connection with village life, allowing tourists to experience local culture and language up close while enjoying traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes. Compared to hotels, these stays are more affordable and offer a personalized, family-like environment.<\/p>\n
Following the examples of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Sikkim, and Assam, Chhattisgarh too is entering a new era of homestay-based rural tourism. The scenic hills and greenery of Jashpur make this model even more appealing.<\/p>\n
For adventure enthusiasts, the Jashpur Jamboree provided special attractions. Around 120 tourists participated in rock climbing sessions at Deshdekha, conducted under expert supervision with full safety measures. The participants enjoyed both thrill and tranquility amid verdant landscapes.<\/p>\n
On the opening day, registered tourists were served meals in leaf plates (dona-pattal) \u2014 a hallmark of Jashpur\u2019s traditional hospitality. After a day full of activities, the evenings came alive as visitors danced to folk tunes alongside local artists. Under the moonlit sky, the blend of music, laughter, and camaraderie transformed the atmosphere into a celebration of togetherness.<\/p>\n
