After providing over 10.33 crore domestic LPG connections to economically vulnerable women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, the process has been initiated once again to grant 25 lakh new Ujjwala gas connections as a gift to the people before Diwali. Chhattisgarh has been allocated a target to provide 2 lakh 23 thousand new domestic LPG connections. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for providing new connections under this scheme. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Sai, detailed guidelines have been issued by the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department of the Chhattisgarh government for the new Ujjwala gas connections.
\nNew Connections to be Given to Beneficiaries Within 15 Days
\nAs per the detailed guidelines issued by the department, a District Ujjwala Committee will be formed in all districts, headed by the District Collector. This committee will regularly monitor the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and the timely resolution of received applications in the district. Application forms for new gas connections will be accepted from eligible families within the next 7 days. The gas agencies in the district will process the received applications, conduct verification, and take action to issue new gas connections within 15 days.
\nPriority to be Given to Beneficiaries Under the Niyad Nela Naar Scheme
\nIn the districts of Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, Kanker, and Dantewada, which fall under the Niyad Nela Naar Scheme, beneficiaries will be identified first, and these villages will be given special priority to ensure that 100% of identified beneficiaries receive connections under the Ujjwala Gas Scheme. Special camps will be organized in areas with smooth network connectivity, in coordination with the oil companies, to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the scheme. Applications for the remaining 34,425 families for gas connections under the scheme will be collected by organizing special camps in the identified villages. For e-KYC of applications received from remote and inaccessible areas, special camps will be organized in selected areas with connectivity to benefit them.
\nDistrict Collector to be the Chairman of the District Level Ujjwala Committee
\nAt least 05 percent of the applications received under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will be verified and examined by the District Ujjwala Committee. For this purpose, instructions have been given to hold meetings with all district gas agencies and provide them with information for issuing new Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana gas connections. The District Level Ujjwala Committee will be chaired by the District Collector or a senior officer authorized by them, and the District Nodal Officer from the Oil Marketing Company will serve as the Coordinator Member. Two officers from two other Oil Marketing Companies, the District Food and Civil Supplies Officer, and two non-official members will also be members of the committee.
\nCriteria Established for New Connections Under the Scheme
\nCriteria for eligibility for new gas connections under PMUY have been established. Accordingly, families will be excluded from the scheme if any member of the family earns more than \u20b910,000 per month, if any member of the house is a government employee, or if the family owns a non-agricultural enterprise registered with the government. Similarly, farmers with a Kisan Credit Card credit limit of more than \u20b950,000, owners of more than 2.5 acres of irrigated land with irrigation equipment, owners of 5 acres or more of irrigated land for two or more crop seasons, owners of at least 7.5 acres or more of land who possess at least one irrigation equipment, owners of houses with a carpet area of more than 30 square meters, owners of a self-propelled three or four-wheeler motorized vehicle or a fishing boat or a mechanized three or four-wheeler agricultural equipment, and families who already have an LPG connection will be ineligible to receive benefits under the scheme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
