On the occasion of the birth centenary of Baba Kartik Uraon, the revered educator and social reformer, a Bhoomi Pujan (foundation-laying ceremony) was held today in Ambikapur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the event as the chief guest.<\/p>\n
Paying floral tribute to Baba Kartik Uraon, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described him as \u201cthe pride of the tribal society.\u201d He said that although Baba Kartik Oraon pursued higher education abroad, \u201che never abandoned his faith and culture.\u201d Following the path laid down by his ancestors, he attained the highest education and devoted his life to guiding society toward enlightenment.<\/p>\n
CM Shri Sai recalled Baba Kartik Uraon\u2019s inspirational message \u2014 \u201cThe more we learn, the more we build society.\u201d That thought, he said, \u201ccontinues to inspire us even today.\u201d Baba Kartik Uraon dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of the tribal community, the spread of education and the promotion of social unity. \u201cWe must follow the path he showed and commit ourselves to the holistic development of society,\u201d the Chief Minister said.<\/p>\n
During the ceremony, CM Shri Sai performed the foundation ritual for the upcoming Baba Kartik Uraon Chowk near the Municipal Corporation office in Ambikapur and announced an allocation of \u20b940.79 lakh for the construction of the statue and the memorial square. He said the site would \u201cstand as a lasting symbol of Baba Kartik Uraon\u2019s ideals, vision and contributions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam described Baba Kartik Oraon as a \u201csource of inspiration.\u201d He said, \u201cBaba Kartik Uraon dedicated his entire life to the upliftment and development of society. We must continue along the path he defined. By respecting our traditions, customs and cultural identity, he motivated us to move forward collectively.\u201d<\/p>\n
Member of Parliament Chintamani Maharaj said that Baba Kartik Uraon consistently spread the message of unity, education and awareness within the community. \u201cToday it is essential that we walk the path he showed, uniting society and binding it with the thread of solidarity so that the tribal community becomes strong and self-reliant and contributes fully to the nation\u2019s development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
