The administration acted swiftly to deal with the recent floods in Dantewada and extend timely assistance to the affected families. During his foreign visit, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai had also issued necessary instructions to Collectors of the flood-affected districts through video conferencing from South Korea.<\/p>\n
Today, when the Chief Minister reached Churitikara Para in Dantewada, flood-hit families expressed gratitude for the timely rescue and relief provided by the administration. People present said that due to the government\u2019s sensitive initiative, all affected families are safe and secure. The relief camp is fully equipped with facilities for shelter, food, and medical care.<\/p>\n
Flood victims Gupteshwari Kashyap, Shalini Sharma, Savita Patre and Lata Sagar told Chief Minister Sai that they were not facing any difficulty in the camp, and rations, utensils, clothes, gas cylinders and stoves had also been distributed. They added that compensation for collapsed houses had already been received and until their homes are rebuilt, they would continue to stay at the relief camp. The affected families further shared that when the floods struck, they had immediately moved to safer high ground on the administration\u2019s appeal, and once the waters receded, they were accommodated at the hostel building in Churitikara Para.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Rita Kashyap, Dropadi Nag, Kundan Gupta, Mahesh Nag, Babita Nag and other affected residents also appreciated the relief and rehabilitation efforts of the administration and conveyed their thanks to Chief Minister Sai.<\/p>\n
Somdi Sodhi Turns Emotional in Front of CM<\/p>\n
When Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the home of Somdi Sodhi, a resident of Churitikara Para, she became emotional. She recounted that her entire house had been submerged in the floods. A day before the floods, she had been admitted to hospital for treatment, with both her daughters accompanying her\u2014an incident which eventually saved their lives. She returned home on Friday after recovery.<\/p>\n
Somdi said that all household items were damaged in the floodwaters. However, the administration provided rations, utensils, clothes, gas cylinders and a stove. In addition, breakfast, meals, and healthcare are being arranged at the relief camp. In this hour of crisis, she expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for the government\u2019s assistance.<\/p>\n
Likewise, Suresh Baghel, another flood victim from Churitikara Para, said that on the day of the floods, his entire family was at home. On receiving the administration\u2019s alert, they moved to a safe location and reached the relief camp the following day. He returned home from the camp last Friday.<\/p>\n
