To ensure that the benefits of GST rate cuts directly reach the public in Chhattisgarh, the state government has launched a special campaign. Finance Minister Mr. O.P. Chaudhary today visited various markets in the capital, interacted with shopkeepers and consumers, and emphasized the need to ensure the impact of reforms at the grassroots level. On this occasion, MLA Mr. Anuj Sharma was also present.<\/p>\n
Finance Minister Mr. Chaudhary stated that the government’s top priority is to ensure that the benefits of GST reforms directly reach the common people. He informed that strict instructions have been given to the officials and staff of the State GST Department to regularly visit markets and ensure that the benefits of tax reductions are not just limited to paperwork, but actually reach the pockets of consumers.<\/p>\n
He further added that the Chhattisgarh government is firmly committed to ensuring that the simplification and reduction of GST rates provide direct benefits to the public. The government is dedicated to making essential goods more affordable and ensuring that the impact of reforms is clearly felt in every household.<\/p>\n
The Finance Minister announced that starting from 22nd September 2025, on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, a \u2018GST Savings Festival\u2019 has been launched. Under this initiative, significant reductions have been made on goods used by the general public. This includes items such as hair oil, soap, shampoo, electrical and electronic appliances, bicycles, small cars, air conditioners, televisions, and tractors. Direct relief is being provided to the public on all these goods.<\/p>\n
He also instructed officials to inform traders in the markets about the rate cuts during their visits and to engage in direct dialogue with consumers. It is essential to explain that the reduction in GST rates has led to lower prices of goods and that the purpose of this reform is to ensure this relief reaches consumers.<\/p>\n
Finance Minister Mr. Chaudhary emphasized that the \u201cGST Savings Festival\u201d is not merely a formal initiative, but a concrete effort to improve the living standards of the general public. This initiative will boost the state’s economy, increase consumer confidence, and encourage trade.<\/p>\n
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation from the Red Fort on 15th August, had announced the reduction and simplification of GST rates.
