Our policy is clear – answer words with words, and bullets with bullets. For those Naxalites who wish to surrender and return to the mainstream of society, our government is providing better living conditions and rehabilitation facilities, said Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.<\/p>\n
Those who abandon the path of violence and adopt the path of the republic are welcome, he added.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, while congratulating the security forces on the continuous surrender of Naxalites in various districts of the Bastar division, saluted their indomitable courage and said – Today, 7 Maoists have surrendered in Kanker district, on whom a total reward of Rs 32 lakh was declared. <\/p>\n
Earlier, 27 Naxalites with a reward of 52 lakh in Narayanpur district and 9 Naxalites with a reward of 52 lakh in Sukma district surrendered before the security forces. This is the direct result of our government’s effective surrender policy and the continuous campaigns being run to eliminate Naxalism.<\/p>\n
CM Sai said that so far 941 Naxalites have surrendered, while 1,112 Naxalites have been arrested by our security forces. 265 Naxalites have been eliminated in Naxalite encounters. Naxalites are surrendering due to being fed up with the hollow ideology of Naxalism and in the hope of a better life. This is a sign that Naxalism is now counting its last breaths.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that I often meet the surrendered Naxalites during my Bastar tours. It is clear from their interaction that after leaving the hollow Maoist ideology, they are living a better life today and are happy. By developing basic infrastructure and basic needs through government schemes, we are eliminating the Naxal base in the identified villages of the heavily Naxal-affected districts.<\/p>\n
Sai said that 15 thousand Pradhan Mantri Awas have been sanctioned for surrendered Naxalites and Naxalite affected families. The terror of Maoism will end within the stipulated time frame.
