Residents like Ram Pyare and Deendayal from Jashpur share their transformative experiences with the improved health services.<\/p>\n
Free Treatment for Ram Pyare in Diirghayu Ward
\n\u201cMy entire savings were exhausted on cancer treatment, and I was on the brink of selling my house. At such a critical time, the Diirghayu Ward in the district hospital became a lifesaver, offering free treatment and medicines,\u201d says 60-year-old Ram Pyare Ram, a resident of Rajapara and a peon at the Government Model School.<\/p>\n
For years, Ram Pyare suffered from stomach pain and burning sensations. Initially, doctors at a private hospital in Ambikapur diagnosed him with an ulcer and started treatment. However, after two years with no relief, he sought treatment at a private hospital in Raipur, where he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Referred to another private hospital, his treatment continued for a year, draining all his savings. The financial strain pushed him toward selling his house, and his family took loans to cover further medical expenses.<\/p>\n
Eventually, Ram Pyare learned about free treatment facilities at the district hospital and began treatment there. \u201cEarlier, my monthly expenses on treatment ranged from \u20b990,000 to \u20b91,00,000, excluding travel and other costs. Now, the treatment is free, and there\u2019s no need for additional expenses,\u201d he shares, expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and the government for their support.<\/p>\n
Diirghayu Ward Brings Hope to Deendayal in His Struggles
\nDeendayal Yadav, a cancer patient from Kansabel, recalls facing severe health issues since September 2023. Initially diagnosed with hydrocele, his condition worsened, leading to swelling in his abdomen. After collapsing at home, he underwent treatment at Kunkuri for 2-3 days. With no clear diagnosis, he visited Ambikapur, where doctors advised him to seek treatment at Raipur Medical College. There, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer.<\/p>\n
As the sole breadwinner working as a mason, Deendayal\u2019s condition deeply affected his family. Doctors, however, assured him of financial support through free treatment in his district. At Jashpur\u2019s Diirghayu Ward, his treatment began under the Ayushman Card scheme. Once bedridden, Deendayal is now gradually recovering and can sit up on his own.<\/p>\n
