\nThe Indian Army, in collaboration with Chhattisgarh Government organised a Special Edition of the Soldierathon Marathon at Central Park, Naya Raipur, today.
\nFormer Chief of Army Staff General V K Singh, served as the Chief Guest flag off the soldierathon. His speech motivated participants and underscored the significance of remembering the sacrifices made during the 1971 war.
\nThe event commemorated the 53rd anniversary of India’s decisive victory in the 1971 War with Pakistan, a momentous chapter in the nation’s history.
\nThe event, which drew over 3000 participants, provided an exceptional opportunity for the local youth and civil population of Chhattisgarh to run alongside soldiers and experience a piece of history. The marathon featured multiple race categories, including a 21 Km, 10 Km, and 5 Km run, as well as a 3 Km walk, allowing participants of all ages and fitness levels to join.
\nA special highlight of the event was the opportunity for participants and visitors to view a collection of war relics from the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The exhibit, which featured military artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from the conflict, gave attendees a chance to connect with history and gain a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made during the war.
\nThe Soldierathon was widely praised by participants, who appreciated the chance to run alongside soldiers and engage with military history in such an interactive way.
