On the occasion of World Water Day, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has appealed to the people of the state to make the water conservation campaign a public movement. He said that water is life—life began with water, and its continuous flow is the foundation for the continuity of life.

Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized that as the world moves towards a water crisis, it is the responsibility of every individual to cherish every drop of water. He further stated that every year on March 22, ‘World Water Day’ is celebrated to raise public awareness about the importance of water and the need for its conservation. He added that the Chhattisgarh government has taken several important initiatives with water conservation as one of its priorities. The state is promoting water conservation through public participation and is also making planned and continuous efforts to control water pollution and rejuvenate water resources.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the ‘Jal-Jagar Mahotsav’ organized in Dhamtari district was an innovative initiative for water conservation, where active community participation energized the movement for water awareness. He highlighted that due to increasing population, uncontrolled exploitation, and pollution, the availability of clean water has become one of the biggest challenges of the future, which can only be averted through collective efforts.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai called upon the people of the state to take a pledge together to conserve every drop of water, spread its importance to everyone, and gift a water-rich future to the coming generations.
