Raipur, March 20

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended heartfelt wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of International Forestry Day and urged them to protect the environment and save forests. He stated that forests are not just greenery, but the very foundation of life on Earth. They are not only a major source of oxygen but also a treasure trove of various food, medicinal, and other useful resources. Every year on March 21st, ‘World Forestry Day’ is celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of trees and forests.

Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized that due to the increasing population and modern lifestyle in various parts of the world, forests are shrinking, leading to an increase in environmental imbalances. The depletion of forests is exacerbating the problems of climate change and pollution. The impact of environmental imbalance is clearly visible on humans, agriculture, and ecosystems.

Chhattisgarh – A Forested State Moving Forward in Forest Management and Conservation

Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted that a large portion of Chhattisgarh is covered with dense forests, and the social and economic structure of the region is deeply intertwined with these forests. With this in mind, the government is continuously working to conserve wildlife and natural resources through forest management and community-based forest conservation efforts. He mentioned that through various government schemes, not only are the forests being conserved, but local communities are also being involved to maintain a balance between forests and livelihoods.

Chief Minister Shri Sai appealed to all the citizens of the state to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts. He encouraged every individual to plant at least one tree, take care of it, and fulfill the responsibility of providing a clean, green, and pollution-free environment for future generations.
