Working Women’s Major Need for Secure Housing to be Fulfilled: Six Women’s Hostels to be Built in Raipur and Bilaspur

The major need for secure and affordable housing for working women in Chhattisgarh’s two largest cities, Raipur and Bilaspur, will soon be fulfilled.
The Union Ministry of Finance has sanctioned 202 crore rupees for six Working Women’s Hostels in Raipur, Bilaspur, and Naya Raipur under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2024-25. With this amount, Raipur Municipal Corporation will build 250-250 seater women’s hostels in Telibandha and Tatibandh, and a 223 seater women’s hostel in Bhaisthan.
Meanwhile, CSIDC will construct 224-224 seater hostels in Tifra and Sirgitti in Bilaspur. Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority will build a thousand-seater hostel in Naya Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed gratitude to the Government of India for providing funds for secure and affordable housing for working women in cities.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that the state government had sent a proposal to the Government of India to build working women’s hostels to achieve the goal of women empowerment along with good governance and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision ‘Developed India-2047’. He thanked the Government of India on behalf of the women of the state for its approval.
He said that the construction of hostels will provide safe housing to working women in all three cities.
Under the special capital assistance by the Union Ministry of Finance, 103 crore 22 lakh rupees have been sanctioned for a thousand-seater women’s hostel in Naya Raipur, 15 crore 10 lakh rupees and 15 crore five lakh rupees respectively for 250-250 seater hostels in Tatibandh and Telibandha in Raipur. 17 crore 23 lakh rupees have been sanctioned for a 223-seater hostel in Bhaisthan in Raipur itself. The Government of India has sanctioned 26 crore 15 lakh rupees and 25 crore 25 lakh rupees respectively for 224-224 seater hostels in Tifra and Sirgitti in Bilaspur.
