Work on the water supply scheme in Mana to be expedited under AMRUT Mission

The work on the water supply scheme under construction in Mana Nagar Panchayat under Mission AMRUT 2.0 will now be expedited.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Urban Administration and Development Shri Arun Sao today reached the field and inspected the works along with senior officials of all concerned departments.
He gave necessary instructions to the officials to expedite the work on the drinking water scheme and ensure quality work.
He directed the Commissioner of Raipur Municipal Corporation to coordinate with the Raipur Municipal Corporation and Mana Nagar Panchayat for the availability of drinking water in Mana Nagar Panchayat. MLA Motilal Sahu, Secretary of Urban Administration Department Dr. Basavaraju S., Collector of Raipur Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Abhinash Mishra were also present during the inspection of the works.
During the inspection of the works of the water tank under construction at Pushp Vatika Garden in Mana Nagar Panchayat, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao also resolved the lack of coordination between the department and the Nagar Panchayat regarding the roads of about 9 km length of the Public Works Department for the water distribution line.
He directed the appointment of a nodal officer for coordination between the urban body and the Public Works Department for water supply projects at the work site and to start the work of pipeline expansion immediately.
Sao called the officials of the Energy Department on the spot to resolve the land-related issues coming in the project and directed the immediate resolution of the cases related to CSPTCL.
Under the ambitious Mission Amrit 2.0 of the Central Government, a drinking water scheme is being prepared in Mana Nagar Panchayat. Under this, clean drinking water will be supplied to about four thousand households in Mana Nagar Panchayat through taps. More than 30 percent of the work of this scheme costing Rs 44.38 crore has been completed so far. The target is to complete the work by September 2025.
Mana city will be supplied water through two overhead water tanks of 840 kiloliters and 650 kiloliters capacity under construction at Mana Nagar Panchayat office and Pushp Vatika Garden respectively. The work of both the tanks is 85 percent and 75 percent complete respectively. About 66 km of distribution pipeline will be laid in the Nagar Panchayat for water supply. Out of this, more than 34 km of pipeline has been laid so far.
