We have sent one lakh crore rupees to the accounts of food providers: Sai

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today released the 19th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana from Bhagalpur, Bihar. Under this, Rs 22,000 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers across the country. These include 25 lakh 95 thousand 832 farmers of Chhattisgarh. Samman Nidhi of Rs 599 crore 38 lakh has been sent to these farmers’ accounts. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai also joined the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi program. He congratulated and honored the farmers receiving Kisan Samman Nidhi at the program organized at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus in the capital Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that honoring the food providers is like honoring Mother Annapurna. In the gap of fourteen months, we have sent about one lakh crore rupees to the accounts of the farmer brothers. By getting good value to the food providers, happiness has come in their lives. Farmers are moving towards modern farming. Only with the prosperity of the farmers, the foundation of strong rural development has been prepared and the urban economy has also improved with this. We are improving Chhattisgarh only with the strength and enthusiasm received from the labor of the food providers. The participation of farmers is most important in making developed Chhattisgarh-developed India.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that till now Samman Nidhi of Rs 9712 crore 58 lakh has been given to the farmers of the state in Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi. More than 2 lakh 75 thousand farmer brothers have benefited from this scheme as compared to the year 2023-24. 2 lakh 34 thousand forest leaseholder farmers and 32 thousand 500 farmers of special backward tribes are also getting the benefit of this scheme. The requirement of agricultural land has been relaxed so that the farmers of special backward tribes can get the benefit of the scheme.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Modi ji had given guarantee to the farmers to purchase paddy at Rs 3100 per quintal and 21 quintals per acre. Our government has fulfilled this promise. Along with this, a guarantee was also given to give two years’ outstanding bonus to the farmers. Within a fortnight of taking oath, we had released the bonus amount of Rs 3716 crore to the accounts of 13 lakh farmers. Last time we purchased 145 lakh metric tons of paddy. If we include the bonus amount along with the value of paddy given to the farmers, then Rs 49 thousand crore was sent to the accounts of the farmer brothers in the last Kharif season. In this Kharif season, we have made a record purchase of more than 149 lakh metric tons of paddy. If we include the amount received from various schemes in this season, then we have sent approximately Rs 52 thousand crore to the accounts of the farmers.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Modi is continuously working towards doubling the income of farmers. For this, his emphasis is also on horticulture crops, crop diversification and animal husbandry. We are doing special work to promote horticulture and crop diversification. Along with this, we have also signed an MOU with NDDB to promote milk production by encouraging animal husbandry. With this, the state has moved forward in the direction of milk revolution. Our government is continuously fulfilling the aspirations of the farmers. Under the Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme, we have also given an amount of ten thousand rupees each to the accounts of 5 lakh 62 thousand landless farmers of the state.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam also addressed the program organized at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus. On this occasion, former chairman of Chhattisgarh State Vanoshadhi Board Shri Rampratap Singh, Indira Gandhi University Vice Chancellor Shri Girish Chandel, Agricultural Production Commissioner Ms. Shehla Nigar, Director of Agriculture Department Dr. Saransh Mittar along with a large number of farmers were present.
