Wave of Devotion at Gurudarshan Mela, Pilgrims Arriving from Across the Country

The Gurudarshan Mela, held at Giroudpuri, the birthplace and workplace of Baba Guru Ghasidas, is renowned across India for its grandeur and spiritual significance. The fair, running from March 4 to March 6, is attracting thousands of devotees from across Chhattisgarh and the entire country seeking blessings.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, extensive arrangements have been made this year for the convenience and safety of devotees.
CM Sai has announced an increase in the fair’s budget from ₹25 lakh to ₹50 lakh to enhance its grandeur. Additionally, he has approved the construction of a permanent shed from the main entrance to the main temple for the comfort of visitors.
After offering prayers at Guru Gaddi, CM Sai prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the people. He also directed the district administration to improve facilities for devotees. Following his announcement, the Public Works Department (PWD) has been instructed to conduct a site inspection and measurements for the shed construction.
Enhanced Facilities for Devotees
With CM Sai’s initiative, the Gurudarshan Mela has been made more grand and well-organized this year. The increased facilities will provide devotees with a comfortable, safe, and spiritual experience. The fair’s expansion will elevate service and devotion to new heights.
Medical Services Strengthened: The number of medical aid centers has been increased from 2 to 8, and ambulances from 4 to 8.
Free Food Service Expanded: Now, 24 locations with 212 groups are providing free meals, up from 20 locations with 175 groups.
Improved Drinking Water Supply: Permanent water connections increased from 110 to 195, and water tankers from 8 to 18.
Enhanced Security Arrangements:
Police control rooms increased from 3 to 9.
Security personnel increased from 450 to 1,150.
36 CCTV cameras installed for the first time, with continuous monitoring.
130 wireless sets provided to security personnel.
Fire safety improved with 3 fire trucks, up from 1, for rapid emergency response.
Upgraded Electricity & Lighting:
Transformers increased from 10 to 13.
Backup generators increased from 6 to 10 for uninterrupted power supply.
Better Sanitation Facilities:
Toilets increased from 4 to 16.
Bathing areas increased from 6 to 10.
An 80-seat permanent toilet added for devotees.
Sanitation staff increased from 80 to 291 to maintain cleanliness.
First-Ever Digital Initiative – GiroudpuriMela.com
For the first time, the “Giroudpuri Mela” website has been launched. It provides online information on the fairground, travel guidance, and essential services. Pilgrims can now access travel details, parking information, religious site guides, and other facilities online, making their visit more convenient.
The Gurudarshan Mela has become a major spiritual and cultural event, attracting devotees nationwide. With CM Sai’s efforts, this year’s fair is bigger, better, and more accessible than ever before.
