Vehicles Without HSRP Number Plates Will Face Fines from Police and Enforcement Teams

Raipur, 20 June
A review meeting was held today at the Mahanadi Bhavan Secretariat under the chairmanship of Secretary and Transport Commissioner Shri S. Prakash, with representatives of companies contracted for High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) and all transport officers in attendance. During the meeting, Shri S. Prakash directed strict penal action against vehicles not fitted with HSRP plates.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the decline in HSRP orders, Secretary Prakash instructed all transport officials to coordinate with the police and conduct joint inspection drives, imposing fines where necessary. He held detailed discussions with transport officials from Dhamtari, Jashpur, Durg, Ambikapur, Baikunthpur, Raipur, and Bilaspur districts, and directed them to prepare an action plan to double the number of HSRP orders in the coming days.
All transport officers were instructed to coordinate with HSRP vendors to organize regular camps at tehsil headquarters, rural towns, and high-traffic areas such as industrial zones and educational institutions. The Secretary cum Commissioner also directed the Regional Transport Officer of Durg to organize HSRP camps at the staff parking area of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), under Durg district.
To raise public awareness regarding the importance of installing HSRP plates and understanding relevant rules and regulations, instructions were given to disseminate information through banners and posters at petrol pumps and other crowded locations.
It was also directed in the meeting that contracted companies must set up permanent fitment centers operated by the company not only at district headquarters but also at tehsil levels, and increase manpower accordingly. Additionally, all transport officers were instructed to carry out regular physical inspections of all fitment centers. A follow-up review meeting will be held next week.
