In Britain, at least six people were killed in two attacks at the heart of the UK’s capital in which armed Scotland Yard officers shot dead three suspects. At least 48 injured were being treated in hospitals across London. The attacks that took place at London Bridge and Borough Market comes just days ahead of the general election on Thursday.
The first incident was reported at London Bridge when a van swerved off the road into a crowd of pedestrians. Within minutes, in the second attack at Borough market on the South Bank of the Thames three men wielding knives began attacking passersby, even entering one restaurant to attack night diners.
British Prime Minister Theresa May has called the attack as a potential act of terrorism and attacks as terrible. British opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn also condemned the attacks.
Yesterday’s were the third terror attack to strike the UK this year. On 22nd last month, 22 people were killed and 116 injured in a suicide bombing at Manchester Arena.
