Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the Director Generals of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to pay special attention to quality of rations in the para military forces. He directed them to ensure serving quality food to CAPFs personnel.

This came in the wake of complaint in January by a BSF jawan alleging that poor quality rations are given to security personnel posted along the border. The Home Minister today held a review meeting with the DGs of the CAPFs in New Delhi.

During the meeting, he also asked them that there should be no compromise in providing the best medical care to the security personnel wounded in operations. Mr. Singh said instead of waiting for commercial civilian flight, services of air ambulances must be availed promptly to rush the injured to the best available hospital.

Various issues related to the CAPFs personnel including issues arising out of implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, stagnation among lower ranks and cadre review and procurement of rations, were discussed in the meeting. Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officials of Ministry were also present.
