Kicking-off campaign for assembly elections scheduled to be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday targeted BJP-led government in the country with series of allegations including alleged connection of Mehul Choksi and Finance Minister’s daughter, Rafael deal and others.
Meanwhile, Gandhi also expressed anger towards media for not covering issues raised by Congress in interest of public and the country. He also assured farmers here of clearing farmers’ debts within 10 days of Congress coming to power in Chhattisgarh.
“Have you heard the name of Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi, the thieves of Rs 35000 crore and the thieves who fled the country? Mehul Choksi, the thief, has deposited huge amount in the bank account of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter and this is the only reason, why Finance Minister did not took action against him,” alleged Rahul Gandhi while addressing Kisaan Rally in Raipur on Monday.
He further alleged that senior congress leader today chaired a press conference and highlighted the facts pertaining to transaction of money between Choksi’s company and bank account (maintained with ICICI Bank) of FM’s daughter but representatives from media did not highlighted on television. Even some biggest media in the country did not highlighted this news on television.
“Youths of Chhattisgarh have to understand why this is happening because it is linked with their future. Chhattisgarh is not a poor state, it is very rich and there is no scarcity of money here, the only fact is money from you snatched. 515 big industrialists, you know their name, are busy in snatching your money,” charged Gandhi.
Gandhi further said that he feels journalists are not less than army people. Army personnel protect the country by keeping our borders safe while journalists have responsibility of protecting the country from inside but in case of Finance Minister Jaitley, the biggest media houses in the country failed to protect the country.
Targeting Modi government on Rafael deal, Gandhi alleged that depending on the requirement of aircrafts by Indian air force, UPA Government has invited a contract for procurement of 126 aircrafts. According to the contract, the price of single aircraft was Rs 526 crore and the then government had placed a condition that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) would manufacture the aircraft in India keeping future of youths in mind but Modi changed the entire contract after assuming as Prime Minister of India.
After assuming as PM, Modi visited France along with Anil Ambani and signed a deal of purchasing the aircraft at very higher rates, charged the Congress President.
“HAL is manufacturing aircrafts from the country from last 70 years and made aircrafts used in series of war against Pakistan. They have very immense experience in the field but Modi has assigned the task to Anil Ambani. Anil ambani has not manufactured any aircraft in his lifetime, he did not even make aircraft of paper. Hal has returned Rs 3000 Cr to the government of India while Anil Ambani has taken Rs 4500 Cr from public sector banks and he is not clearing his debts,” alleged Gandhi
Terming farmers as powerhouse of the country, Gandhi said Congress is going to clear the debts of farmers within 10 days of Congress’s government formation in Chhattisgarh.
