Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said there should be an Ayurveda hospital in every district of the country and AYUSH Ministry is working in this direction.
Mr Modi said, in the last three years, more than 65 Ayush Hospitals have been opened in the country.
Inaugurating the All India Institute of Ayurveda at Sarita Vihar in New Delhi on the occasion of 2nd Ayurveda Day, Prime Minister said, the institute will give power and strength to Ayurveda.
Mr Modi said, like IT revolution a few years ago, time has come for a health revolution under the aegis of Ayurveda. He said, world is searching for a holistic medical system and yoga and Ayurveda taken together can give a solution.
Mr Modi said, people across the world are going back to nature and it won’t be difficult to evolve atmosphere of Ayurveda in such times.
Prime Minister said, Ayurveda experts need to find medicines which give immediate relief to patients and also keep side effects at bay.
He urged private players to use corporate social responsibility funds to strengthen Ayurveda. He also said that government has allowed 100 per cent FDI in health care.
Mr Modi said, investors should also come forward for Yoga and Ayurveda. Prime Minister said, Ayurveda system should be expanded, in the fields like sports. He said, Cleanliness is crucial to strengthen preventive healthcare.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also gave away the Yoga Award to the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, Pune. Prime Minister also released the Ayurvedic Standard Treatment Guidelines developed by the AYUSH Ministry.
As per information received, the first phase of the project has been completed at a cost of 157 crore rupees and its campus is spread over 10 acres and its has both hospital and academic blocks.
The first ever All India Institute of Ayurveda has been set up along the lines of AIIMS. The institute aims at integrating traditional Ayurveda with new diagnostic tools and technology.
Currently, the institute hospital block includes neurological and degenerative disease care unit, diabetes and metabolic disorders care unit, Yoga, Panchakarma, diabetic retinopathy and infertility clinics.
Pathology, biochemistry, microbiology and radiology laboratories and diagnostic facilities are also available in the hospital, which has provision of 200 beds.
