Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom held talks with her North Korean counterpart Ri Yong Ho in Stockholm yesterday. The meeting comes amid growing speculation about a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the Scandinavian country. Ms Wallstrom refused to comment on whether she and Mr Ri discussed the Trump-Kim meeting. The North Korean Foreign Minister has not made any public comment during his visit to Stockholm that started late Thursday. He also held a brief meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven.
Mr Trump has agreed to meet the North Korean leader by May. So far, Pyongyang has yet to comment publicly on what it hopes to gain from the talks.
