Chief Election Commissioner, OP Rawat has said Commission does not leave a scope for any bogus voters in Electoral lists.

Rawat said the work of deleting the bogus voters’ names is completed much before the elections are announced in a state.

The CEC’s comments come after the Supreme court dismissed petitions of Congress leaders Kamal Nath and Sachin Pilot seeking directions to the Commission to provide the draft voter list in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The apex court had reserved its verdict on October 8 on the plea of leaders alleging duplication of voters in the list and sought a proper redressal of grievances to ensure free and fair elections.

Polling for assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 28th and in Rajasthan on December 7.
