Aiming to create terror in the region, the cadre of outlawed organisation Communist Party of India (Maoists) reportedly abducted as many as 10 persons including woman sarpanch of Chintagufa, woman deputy-sarpanch and others in insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Although, the incident took place on September 16 in Chintagufa area during night hours, it recently came to light following which police swung into action, added police.
According to information received, on September 16, a group of ultras stormed into the village and kidnapped 10 persons including woman sarpanch of Chintagufa Podiyam Muye, her relatives Podiyam Kosa, Podiyam Komal and woman deputy-sarpanch. During the course of investigation it came to light that woman sarpanch and two other belong to family of a surrendered cadre Podiyam Panda. Prima-facie it seems that objective behind the abduction of villagers is to create terror in the region as well as within the organisation.
