Information and Broadcasting Minister Col Rajyavardhan Rathore today lashed out at the Congress for raising questions on the 2016 surgical strikes. The Minister said that the opposition party is not able to digest the success of the Indian Army and the NDA government.

In a short video posted on his twitter handle, Col Rathore accused the Congress of questioning the surgical strikes for political reasons which is unfortunate.

The Minister said that for the first time an Indian Prime Minister has sent a message to the world, by conducting surgical strikes, that India will not let its integrity go away.

He alleged that Congress could not take such a bold step due to weak leadership. The Minister added that everyone should come together on the issue of national security and there should not be politics on it.

Earlier, the Congress had accused the BJP led government of politicising the surgical strikes after video clips of the army action were released. The surgical strikes were carried out on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in September 2016.
