Justice Arijit Pasayat, vice-chairman of the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team on black money said that a huge amount of black money has been seized from Maoists leaders in different parts of the country.
Speaking to media in Cuttack after a high-level meeting of SIT on black money yesterday, he said, a detailed probe will be launched in connection with seizure of the black money from Maoists.
Justice Pasayat said, Maoists are expanding their operation and amassing black money from illegal narcotics trade. Apart from Maoists money trail, financial transactions of some prominent cases were also discussed during the meeting.
Justice Pasayat also informed that the committee on black money has already submitted its sixth report to the Apex court. Officials from Crime Branch, Vigilance, Revenue Intelligence, ED, CBI and Mining department attended the meeting.
