The Government is following a multi-pronged strategy to ensure total elimination of child labour in the country. Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said the strategy compromises of statutory and legislative measures, rehabilitation and universal elementary education along with convergence with other schemes for the socio-economic development.
He was replying to supplementaries during question hour in the Lok Sabha today. The Minister said besides legislative measures, the government is implementing the national child labour project, a scheme for rehabilitation of child labour.
