Four BSF trooper, a DRG jawan injured in IED blast

Four troopers of Border Security Force (BSF) and a jawan of District Reserve Guard (DRG) were injured in IED blast triggered by ultras in insurgency-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, police said.

The blast took place around 1.5 km from Ghati camp falling in limits of Modakpal police station at around 9 am, added police sources.

According to police ultras have exploded a truck carrying BSF troops of 414 Adhoc Batallion by triggering IED blast. Four personnel of Border Security Force (BSF), a trooper of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and one civilian driver suffered injuries in IED blast triggered by ultras. Injured BSF personnel are Assistant Sub Inspector Naresh Singh, Constable Bhagwan Singh, Constable Niranjan Singh and Constable Alok Singh while injured DRG trooper is identified as Ganpati Vasan. The injured security personnel were rushed to Bijapur district hospital and later airlifted to the state capital for better medical assistance.

Initial report says that all injured are out of danger and no polling personnel were there during the incident, said police, adding that reinforcement was immediately rushed to the spot of blast and situation under control.
