
Enforcement Directorate has attached movable and immovable property assets worth 86 lakhs rupees of Maoist leader Sandeep Yadav alias Badka Bhaiya. This is the first ever attachment of properties of a top Maoist leader by any agency in the country. The ED said the Maoist is the in-charge of Madhya Zone of Bihar -Jharkhand Special Area Committee of CPI (Maoist).
The ED has initiated an investigation under the provisions of PMLA on the basis of the proposal sent by Bihar Police containing a list of FIRs and charge sheets filed against Yadav and his brother.
The attached properties are in Bihar and Delhi. In the investigation, the ED revealed that huge demonetized currency has been laundered by the cadre of the Maoist. During demonetization period, the relatives of Yadav deposited huge cash in his bank account.
