The Delhi High Court today rejected Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi’s plea challenging Income Tax reassessment for the financial year 2011-2012 in connection with the National Herald Case.

BJP has termed the court’s decision as a big victory of NDA government’s fight against corruption.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson, Sambit Patra, alleged that the entire Gandhi family today is known as a family of what he called cheats, tax evaders and corrupts.

He alleged that the Congress leaders knew that the Court will give such a decision today and that is why they called Bharat Bandh.

Mr. Patra also alleged that the National Herald case is related to corruption of around five thousand crore rupees in which Congress President Gandhi and his family is involved. He said the Court’s order has exposed their lies.

Meanwhile, Congress has described the case as political witch hunting.

Party spokesperson, Randeep Singh Surjewala, told media that even though the IT Department had scrutinized the matter which was related to the year 2010-11, the notice was reissued after eight years.
