Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that Congress campaign over the Rafael deal amounts to almost sabotaging the Indian Armed Forces’ operational readiness.

Addressing a Press Conference at Ahmedabad last evening she alleged that the support for the Congress campaign against Indian armed forces is reflected in our “not so friendly” neighbour Pakistan.

Mrs Sitharaman said that Congress allegations of reduction in the number of Rafael jets being purchased from France are totally baseless, as the Modi government, in fact, has bought 36 Rafael fighter jets in fly-away condition as against 18 proposed during the UPA regime.
