The death toll from Saturday’s bomb attack on a crowded bus convoy outside Aleppo, Syria has reached 126. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, at least 68 children were among the people killed in the deadliest attack. The blast hit a convoy carrying residents from the northern towns of Fuaa and Kafraya as they waited at a transit point in rebel-held Rashidin, west of Aleppo.
The convoy was carrying people including civilians and several hundred pro-government fighters, who were granted safe passage out of the two Shi’ite villages which are besieged by rebels.
UN aid chief Stephen O’Brien said the perpetrators of such a monstrous and cowardly attack displayed a shameless disregard for human life.
